2026 Travel Coach Applications
We are accepting head coach applications for the 2026 MYBA Travel season. If interested, please click on the link at the bottom to fill out the application form and submit by July 1st so we have time to organize and review before applicants are selected at the July Board meeting.
All candidates need to attend the MYBA board meeting on July 7th at the Morton VFW at 7pm and will be expected to provide a brief overview of their background/experience, coaching philosophy, and answer questions from board members. If you cannot attend, please send us an email and let us know. We will use your responses in the form for all voting board members to hear.
Below are some of the core responsibilities of MYBA travel head coaches:
⚾ Facilitate two tryouts, including potential makeup tryouts.
⚾ Create season schedule by contacting other team coaches.
⚾ Volunteer at MYBA spring/fall workdays, MYBA tournaments, and 2-3 field duty shifts throughout the season.
⚾ Get assistant coaches and parents involved with volunteer needs, including MYBA tournaments and field duty.
⚾ Create division schedule for MYBA tournaments and assist with running division.
⚾ Plan and run team practices, including indoor practices beginning mid-January.
⚾ Attend monthly MYBA board meetings.
⚾ Provide communication to team parents throughout the season.
⚾ Create a healthy team culture that enhances skill, knowledge, and passion for the game.
⚾ Manage parent and player expectations throughout the season.
⚾ Understand and adhere to all MYBA bylaws.
Tryouts will be held between 7/23-8/1. Exact dates will be established and communicated by each head coach that is selected.
