MYBA Phase 4 Guidelines for all Baseball Activities

 

Per IDPH guidelines: Any person with COVID-19-like symptoms or is living with someone diagnosed with or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, is asked to refrain from attending any youth sports activity until they are deemed safe to leave quarantine by a medical professional.

 

** All spectating attendees are expected to observe the IDPH social gathering guidelines around the 50-person limit observing 6 ft of social distancing.  Youth sports guidelines do not apply to non-participants.

 

Social Distancing guidelines for Baseball Activites

 

 

Dugouts

-         Phase 4: 4 players per dugout, 1-2 coaches in dugout.  Each kid expected to bring a chair to place outside to the dugout.  These will be placed in the designated Dugout Overflow Area.

-       1-2 coaches will be dedicated to making sure kids in and out of dugout are following strict distancing rules

-       Spectators are to observe at least 6 feet of social distancing from the dugout and the dugout overflow area

 

Indoor Cage access

-         Cage access to remain suspended due to strict Phase 4 youth sports guidelines

-       Anyone who violates cage access will lose access for a time to be determined by MYBA Board

 

Outdoor Cage Access

-            Outdoor cages are open, no more than 2 people allowed per lane in the outdoor cages.

 

Fields

-        All spectating attendees are expected to observe the IDPH social gathering guidelines around the 50-person limit observing 6 ft of social distancing.

 

Bleachers

        -        Bleachers will remain closed and off limits to all spectators to adhere to IDPH Guidelines


Games

-             Dugouts rules still apply, no more than 3-4 kids per dugout

-             Rest of team to sit/stand along the foul fence on outside observing social distancing

-             1-2 coaches will be dedicated to making sure kids in and out of dugout are following strict distancing rules

-             Umpires to be in normal positions

-             Catchers to be 1-2 feet behind the back heel of the batter

-             Fans to be down foul lines and outfield fences, observing 6 ft of social distancing

-             Absolutely no arguing balls or strikes, arguing will result in automatic ejection

-          Catchers will remain at that position if separate gear is not available, with the exception of injury, then gear will be thoroughly wiped down before used by an injury replacement player

-             All shared gear (ex. bats, helmets, catcher’s gear) to be wiped/sprayed down when switching players and at the conclusion of each game 

-             Leadoffs will be permitted from age 11 and up

-          Teams not to take the field until it has been completely vacated from prior game.  Please do not use common field areas for warming up. 

-          Spectators not to arrive and set up chairs/seating until no more than 20 minutes before game time

-          Teams and spectators to leave field post-game in an expeditious manner

 

Concessions

-                 Treat tickets: treat ticket orders will be given to concession staff, and then delivered back to the dugout at the end of the game by staff

-                 One window will be used for orders, the other will be used for pick up.  Lines will be expected to observe social distance
