MYBA Volunteer Opportunities

Now that registration is open, we wanted to reach out to anyone who is interested in volunteering with Morton Youth Baseball Association.

Volunteer head and assistant coaching positions for all in-house leagues are now open, and we encourage all parents and others interested in coaching to sign up.  Our volunteer coaches are vital to the success of MYBA, and the time commitment outside of games os flexible to what time you provide.  Typically in-house teams will practice 1-2 times per week before the season begins, and then once per week at most during the season depending on your availability, schedule and field availability.  It is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to help Morton kids learn baseball, teamwork and sportsmanship while having fun at the same timez

We also have volunteer opportunities for League Reps for each of our in-house leagues.   This position goes above and beyond the normal coach role, and is a good entry level way to get more involved with the Morton Youth Baseball Association Board. These positions oversee the particular in-house league, helping with player evaluations, coach recruitment and team selections/drafts.  You will work with and get support from the various MYBA Directors to help prepare for the upcoming season and throughout the season.  There are no specific requirements for these positions other than an interest to get more involved with MYBA and a basic understanding of baseball.

If you are interested in any of the above, or have any questions at all, please reach out to the MYBA Vice President, Jason Vallar ( ) or President David Hoffman ( )

More about the MYBA, its leagues and player fees . . . .

The Morton Youth Baseball Association's objective is to provide a supervised baseball program that will be enjoyable, educational, and challenging for all the youth.  The 2021 season afforded us the opportunity to develop almost 600 players throughout the season’s 450+ baseball games and countless practices.   Teams in each league will compete in 10-15 games against other Morton teams (in-house games).  All in-house games will be played at Westwood Park.  The season will run from April through June.

Player Leagues are based on grade in school at the time of registration as follows:

Pinto League or “T-Ball” (Cost: $75)  Player's eligible for this league will be in Pre K or Kindergarten at the time of registration and be 4 years old on or before April 30th

Maverick League (Cost: $120)  Player's eligible for this league will be in 1st or 2nd grade at the time of registration.  Kindergarteners will be allowed to play in Maverick if they have played at least 1 year of Pinto.
