U14 Travel Roster
I would like to thank the 20 young men that tried out for the U14 Travel team. It was a tough decision due to the amount of talent that came out. As always, the field had to be narrowed down to 12 players for the roster. Here is the official roster:
I would like those that did not make this team to consider trying out for Travel Light. I can see that being a fun and competitive team. If you have questions please feel free to call me 309-267-5457.
MYBA has just about finished games for the year, and we need to do a few things to get the fields ready for winter. We want to encourage as many MYBA parents and players as possible to come help participate with various activities such as removing backstop padding, bases and making sure the fence lines and dugouts are free of leaves, garbage and other debris.
You are not expected to stay the entire 4 hours (but feel free if you want to!) and any amount of help is much appreciated. Please bring rakes, tarps, blowers, gators, small tractors, edger tools and any other tools you feel appropriate to help clean up fields prior to the winter.
All travel heavy and travel lite coaches and teams are expected to participate (if able to) and need to take responsibility for working on their home field. Please encourage your parents and players to come and help out as well.
The more people we have, the quicker we get the chores completed, and the happier we all will be!
Hope to see you October 26th, 8am-1200pm.

Coach Kennedy would like to think all the kids that tried out for the U11 Travel Lite team. If you didn't make the team, please play in our in-house league, and keep working hard. Here is the team for the 2020 season:
To all interested in trying out for the 8U - 12U 2020 MYBA Travel Lite teams, we are asking you to fill out your information in the registration sheet linked below in google sheets. This will allow for an easier and more efficient check-in process for our travel coaches, volunteers and parents. Each team has it's own tab at the bottom of the sheet for registration. Contact information for each team's head coach(es) is listed at the top of the tab for that team, feel free to reach out to the coach's if you have any questions about tryouts or travel lite. Please make sure to fill this out by the evening before your tryout.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at this year's tryouts!
Update: At the bottom of the sheet is a tab for each team, please make sure you are putting your child's information under the correct team's tab. Also make sure to enter your child's grade, this was added to the form after its release.
MYBA would like to welcome our newest Grand Slam sponsor this year. From now on, Field 2, will be referred to as Morton Dental Center field.
A special thanks to MYBA and MHS baseball alum Dr. Pete Smidt for offering to sponsor Field 2. Dr. Pete has a great legacy with Morton Baseball and we are happy that he has offered to help the next generation of Morton Baseball players. Thanks Dr. Pete and we will see about getting that sign in the outfield where that first home run was hit when you were 9 years old. ;)
There are still sponsorship opportunities with MYBA, so if you are interested in getting your business advertised at the ball park, please shoot us an e-mail.
MYBA wants to welcome “Pumpkin Place” back as a sponsor of MYBA. MYBA is grateful for the numerous sponsors and especially those that continue to support us year after year. So a huge shout out to Pumpkin Place and many thanks.
Better Banks has stepped up and is now a sponsor of MYBA at the Triple level. We appreciate Better Banks using there advertising dollars at the ballpark where over 500 families will be watching baseball from April til October. With this sponsorship, they will have a sign on the outfield fence facing Veterans road.
If you would like to advertise with or become a sponsor of MYBA, please contact Tim Taylor at (309) 642 0008 or Brad Mitchell at (309) 265 5932.
Thanks to Central Illinois Chicago Cubs Booster Club
The Central Illinois Chicago Cubs Booster club has generously contributed to Morton Baseball for the third year in a row. We appreciate their continued support. Just to be fair, we cannot find a Cardinals or White Sox booster club to reach out to, but if any Cardinal or White Sox Fan wants to match the Cubs Booster club donation, please feel free to contact MYBA.
